CloudScout successfully provided early warning of a potential fire hazard on a school campus, preventing a major disaster and ensuring the orderly operation of the school!
Wuhan No.1 Commercial School is a public, full-time national key secondary vocational school and a national model secondary vocational school. In October 2020, the school installed three active environment safety monitoring and early warning devices in its power distribution room to monitor, assess, and provide early warnings for environment safety of power distribution room.
On January 27, 2021, at 19:23:02, the devices detected a early warning signal and promptly sent an early warning message to the operation and maintenance personnel. After on-site inspection and reset, the operation and maintenance personnel left.
The next day, our technical personnel arrived at the scene with a safety hazard inspection device to investigate the hazard spots. When all loads were turned on by the operation and maintenance personnel, the on-site devices issued another early warning signal. With the inspection device, the team found a continuous rise in nanoparticle concentration in the No. 2 low-voltage outlet cabinet. After opening the cabinet, they found that the 315A circuit breaker had tripped. Comparing the nanoparticle concentration trend with the previous night’s data confirmed the location of the hazard.

Subsequently, our technical personnel inspected with the inspection device each layer of the distribution box in the outlet cabinet and discovered that the insulation of the B-phase wiring at the 40A circuit breaker lighting switch on the seventh layer had aged, causing a partial ground short circuit (the surrounding area had softened and charred). This led to an overload of the 315A circuit breaker in the No. 2 low-voltage outlet cabinet, resulting in flashover and the charring of internal insulation materials, which was detected by the on-site devices and triggered the early warning signal.
After our technical personnel reported the hazard spot to the on-site operation and maintenance personnel and school leaders, the faulty components were promptly replaced, and other circuits were inspected to prevent a major safety incident, further guaranteeing the stable and orderly operation of the school.
